Natural Law, by Joey W. Hill

Published by Ellora's cave
Grade: A
Back cover reads:
Mackenzie "Mac" Nighthorse is a highly respected
homicide detective and a career cop. There isn't a dangerous situation that can
back him down. However, the personal becomes uncomfortably entangled in the
professional when he goes undercover in a high class BDSM club as a male
submissive in order to find a Dominatrix who is winning the trust and then
murdering her chosen partners.

When his path crosses Violet Siemanski's, he
realizes he's found a Mistress willing to be his ally in finding the murderess.
But Violet is also going to shatter Mac's shields and make him question who he
is and what he wants, a challenge more disturbing than any case he's ever
worked.

This book is a head trip, and I loved it. Violet is a female Dominatrix who hangs out at The Zone. A BDSM night club. Mac is big sexy alpha male who is also a sexual submissive. Hmm, Interesting.

Mac works as a homicide detective who is working an undercover case. Some crazy Mistress (Mistress is a female Dom for those in the vanilla sex world) is killing her subs. Since Mac has been involved in the s/m scene for a long time it's only natural that he be the one to hunt down the killer.

While working the case he meets Violet and there is an instant attraction between the two of them. Violet wants to own Mac body and soul. Mac wants to let her.

The thing about Mac though, is that he is such an alpha male that he doesn't always submit to Violet. He talks back, he pushes her and boy does he ever make her mad. As she falls in love with him, Violet wants nothing more than for Mac to open up and be honest, to stop fighting her.

Violet is one powerful Dom. She breaks him down emotionally and physically. Nothing that any other Mistress has ever been able to do. In his role as sub he has never used a safe word. Violet is all about the rules of the game, so she gives him a safe word, and she wont give up until she makes him use it. When he finally does submit to her body and soul it's an amazingly gut wrenching moment. I breathed a big sigh of relief for the both of them.

There is some action in the book. Violet is shot and Mac takes extra special care of her. It was so sweet.
The killer attacks Mac and Violet and I really didn't think they would get away, but of course they did. You can't have the hero and heroine being killed off during their own love story.
I recommend this book to everyone. Especially those of you who think that BDSM is nothing but leather, whips and beating each other during sex. It's not that at all. This book will educate you.
