How the heck do you decide which book to read? My TBR is now overflowing. On last count I had nearly 80 ebooks to catch up on.
I keep saying that I wont buy anymore until I am caught up, but I can't help it. Ebook buying is an addiction, I swear it.
So, how do you do it?? Do you close your eyes and let your finger pick a book? Do you read some titles out to your kids and let them pick?
I'm always in the mood to read, I don't have a preferred genre...I love them all. So, I can't even narrow down the field. Seesh, I never thought that picking a book to read would be so complicated.
Maybe I need to add another New Year's resolution...Slow down on the book buying. Yeah, right. I have been saying that for months.

I can't offer advice on ebooks, but as someone who has over 900 print books in her TBR (yes, 900!), this is a subject I feel I'm well versed in.
My advice? Try to figure out what you're in the mood for. I have my TBR arranged by "type" in Rubbermaid totes. If I know I want a historical, I open up one of my historical totes and let me fingers do the walking until something jumps up and bites me. I've also been known to pull out several books that look interesting, read the first few pages, and stick with the one that bit me the hardest.
Good luck!
LOL, Chantal :D Join the club :D Well if you don't have a preferred genre, I guess you can pick any right?
I usually do like Wendy, read what I'm in the mood for... or am attracted to a cover... or if the book has been sitting in my TBR pile for too long, I'll go with that book :P
but your suggestion is fun, reading the titles to your sons and let them decided... but hmmm, do you censure? Like instead of saying "Sex" you'll say... Six? LOL :P
Oh the days when I only had 100 books in my TBR pile. It gets WORSE. Trust me. LOL
You just have to read what you're in the mood for. Not very good advice, but it's all I have. ;)
Good luck on deciding!
What was the question? LOL Don't stop buying books, they are our friends. hehe
Can't help you...my print TBR and e-book TBR are both out of control yet that doesn't stop me from adding more....for example, today I went to Target for socks....I swear I think my dryer eats them...the girls have been complaining about having no matching socks blah blah blah...went for socks, came out 15 minutes later with socks and books...SKINNY DIPPING by Brockway and MOVING TARGET by McCray.
I don't have a big tbr. But I pick what ever I'm in the mood for. Or whatever the newest book I have in the pile is.
Right now I have about 50 give or take in my TBR. frome books to print to books on hold at the library! Fun times!!
I feel your pain.
Wendy- 900?!?!?! Any good ones you can receommend? LOL
Damn, Wendy, that's a good idea-- sort the TBR mountain into smaller, genre sorted mountains.
I don't know how many books are in my TBR-- certainly triple digits in print, maybe 30 or so in ebook (they tend to be shorter, so I tend to get through them quicker).
I buy knowing that an author/book is going to be 2nd or 3rd tier TBR, but with print, if you don't buy it when you see it, then chances are it won't be available in the store later on. I prefer brick and morter and consider online print buying to just be a back-up for what I can't find in-store.
But, like Wendy, whatever I'm in the mood for, or, more often, if I'm burned out on a genre, and need something different, I'll pick up a few and start reading a bit of each. Whatever holds my attention is the one I finish reading.
Wish I could help ~ I have over 500 print books in my TBR and about 10 ebooks. It's an addiction, it really is.
I only have 68 print books in my TBR pile. I can deal with that one, thank goodness.
Dare I say I have over 2,000 books in my print TBR? *G*
I'm with Ames. The books will feel sad and lonely if you don't buy them.
I'm in the same boat, I have no cllue where to start. I currently have over 300 in my TBR pile. :/
